We Play Dead

Was debuted by Delorentos on Irish airwaves this morning on Phantom. I love it! It's a completely different style to the In Love With Detail stuff - it's quite poppy, lush vocal melodies, nice lyrics and that riff is so catchy. I've had it on repeat for most of the day.

You can hear it if you go on to their messageboard, which is located here and post your email address in the "gmail list..." thread. Orrrrr at their Academy gig tomorrow night when they'll be playing the full, electric version.

"freeeeeeeeeze"

^that was one of the many funny and befitting remarks made by participants in the Spencer Tunick South Wall shoot which Liane and myself took part in, alongside 2,500 people bearing all for the world to see.

For something as outrageous as standing on the Great South Wall in the nip for over an hour, I would have thought that you would hear some bad reports/reviews of the event. However, I have heard no such bad reports. Everyone I have heard from has gained a positive experience from it.

For me, one of the funniest moments of the morning, was the actual undressing. One person started it all at the front near the lighthouse and like domino effect, people were ripping off their clothes as quickly as possible so they would not be the odd one out, wearing clothes and looking like a lemming.

30 seconds into our naked stroll down the Great South Wall, Liane's swinging arm made contact with my swinging dangly bits. I put it out of my head only for it to be brought up about a minute later. "Did I just touch your penis?" "Yeah..".

Sure, people are pretty skeptical of Tunick’s artwork but one thing the participants can agree on; is that it’s hard to compare it to anything else for the sheer amount of comradre and community that was at it. I don’t think I have ever felt more in place than when I was naked among 2,500 other naked bodies, which is funny to think of when everyone at some point has felt like a sore thumb in some of life's more trivial situations.

Anyone reading this that didn't take part should definitely feel like they missed out big time, as this really was a once in a lifetime opportunity and those who did participate know they will treasure the memory of that morning for the rest of their lives.

We were all talking about it at Elizabeth's BBQ last night and there is talk of possibly going somewhere (warmer than here) abroad for another shoot.

Oh yeah, I spotted Lisa, Ed, James and Shawna, Kathy, Jarlath, Darragh, Davy and one of my lecturers there (clothed, thank god)!!

Again, congrats to everyone that did it!

Wannabee Junos?

Couldn't believe this when I heard it on Phantom this morning!!!

"A Massachusetts high school is facing a pregnancy boom with 17 girls entering summer vacation expecting babies in what some have called a pregnancy pact.

Officials at Gloucester High School in Gloucester, Mass., are investigating whether half of the teens made a pact to get pregnant during the school year, Time.com reported."

Think it could make great reality TV...

X marks the spot...

where magic happens.

X marks the spot

Learned the whole time traveling trick with an umbrella in a past life when I was a monkey in a Russian circus! Cool, eh?

nudey, nudey, nudey!

So, I'm gearing myself up for the Spencer Tunick shoot by taking some nude shots...

However, I've cropped them to protect your innocence. :P

Can't believe I'm doing the Tunick shoot. I'm so conservative that I always use a towel when I'm getting changed in a swimming pool so this is going to be a BIG turning point for me. Ha! It's a once in a lifetime experience... Hope I'm still living after it tho! :-/ very cold these mornings....
